Laminate wood floor is a multi layer synthetic product fused together with a lamination process. Laminate flooring simulates real wood with a photo of wood under a clear protective layer. The inner core is made up of fiber board and melamine resins. Laminate wood floors do have an advantage that they are durable, attractive and affordable and easy installation. The planks click together and float over the sub floor on top of a foam padding/underlayment that provides moisture and sound reduction. The laminated floors come in a variety of sizes, species and colors. Bruce® hardwood floors Top photo: Reunion® Plank by
